Why I became a Therapist:
I was drawn to the field of therapy through both community engagement and lived experience. As a teenager, I ran a queer social media account with over 40,000 followers, where I witnessed firsthand the depth of pain, isolation, and resilience within my community. Being present for so many people seeking connection and understanding, alongside navigating my own mental health challenges, made clear to me the power (and deficiency) of compassionate, affirming support. These experiences ultimately solidified my belief that becoming a therapist was not just a career choice, but a calling.
Describe your therapeutic approach and what makes it unique?
My therapeutic approach is highly relational and grounded in creating a space where clients feel safe to be fully themselves - without shame, stigma, or embarrassment (In other words, give me the worst of it!). I prioritize building a strong, trusting alliance and believe meaningful change happens when clients feel deeply seen and accepted. I often use metaphors and creative language to help coping tools and insights “stick,” making them easier to understand and apply outside of session. My approach is flexible and tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.
