Why I became a Therapist:
I, like many other therapists, have always been told I’m a “good listener.” I care deeply about others and have always wanted people to feel heard and understood when they’re with me. As I moved through life, I faced my own mental health struggles, which took years to understand and work through. That process taught me that it’s not about “fixing” ourselves, but about learning to know ourselves well and compassionately craft a life that tends to our needs. Every person’s makeup is different, and I find joy in walking alongside people as they learn to feel safer and more at home within themselves.
Describe your therapeutic approach and what makes it unique?
My approach is first and foremost person-centered. I see myself as a collaborative supporter and I tailor therapy to what each client is needing and wanting to prioritize. As we grow more comfortable together, sessions may look like slowing down and creating space to notice what’s happening inside – emotions, sensations, and shifts that are often just as important as what’s being said. While the content of our sessions matters, the process of connecting with ourselves in the moment is also incredibly valuable. Lastly, I focus on building a safe and trusting relationship with every client, knowing this is the foundation for meaningful work.
