Why I became a Therapist:
I transitioned to the field of mental health after I experienced firsthand the transformative power of therapy, and I have stayed in this field because I feel passionate about the unique way this field encourages me to expand upon my ability to empathize. I was a client before I became a therapist, and early on as a client I often felt unable to connect with my providers. Realizing there was a gap in representation for queer, gender non-conforming, and otherwise unconventionally aligned people like myself, I came into this field wanting to take on the multitudes of intersecting identities that may feel underserved, ostracized, or rejected by the systems from which we seek support.
