ADHD Testing

ADHD Testing

What is ADHD Testing?

Student struggling with ADHD symptoms | Provia Psychology

ADHD testing is a comprehensive evaluation that helps identify patterns in attention, focus, and executive functioning. Rather than relying on a single checklist, this process looks at how symptoms show up across different areas of life, including school, work, relationships, and daily routines.

The goal is to provide a clear understanding of whether ADHD is present and how it may be impacting functioning. Evaluations also help distinguish ADHD from other conditions such as anxiety, depression, or learning differences, so you can move forward with the right support.

Signs You Might Need Testing

ADHD can look different across ages, but common signs include difficulty focusing, staying organized, managing time, or following through on tasks. Children may struggle in school, have trouble sitting still, or experience behavioral challenges. Teens often face issues with procrastination, motivation, or feeling overwhelmed by academic and social demands.

Adults may notice ongoing patterns of disorganization, forgetfulness, difficulty completing tasks, or feeling mentally overloaded. If these challenges are persistent and affecting daily life, an evaluation can help clarify what’s going on and identify the most effective next steps.

What We Assess

Our ADHD evaluations look at a range of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional factors, including:

• Attention and concentration
• Impulsivity and hyperactivity
• Executive functioning (organization, planning, time management)
• Memory and processing
• Emotional and behavioral patterns

What You Receive

Following the evaluation, you’ll receive a clear and comprehensive understanding of your results. This includes diagnostic clarity when appropriate, along with personalized recommendations based on your specific strengths and challenges.

You’ll also receive a detailed report that can be used for school or workplace accommodations if needed, along with practical strategies to support focus, organization, and daily functioning at home, in school, or at work.

Testing Process

The process begins with an initial consultation to understand your concerns, history, and goals. From there, we conduct a series of standardized assessments, interviews, and questionnaires to gather a complete picture of functioning across different areas.

Once the evaluation is complete, we review the results with you and provide a detailed report with clear findings and recommendations. This ensures you feel informed, supported, and confident in your next steps.
