Yessica first began working in mental healthcare 9 years ago. As an undergraduate student, she interned in a practice where she provided program support for anger management groups, parenting classes, and substance use support groups. Since then, she has worked in community agency settings, hospital settings, and private practice with people across the lifespan seeking help for a range of life's issues.
Yessica works with clients seeking support with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, life-transitions, trauma, burnout, and career difficulties. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is key and takes the intersections of her clients’ identities into consideration in her approach. She is collaborative and works in partnership with her clients so they can be their most authentic selves and meet their goals.
She has a special interest in relationship issues both with individual clients and couples. In her couples work, she takes an attachment-based approach to improve communication, connection, intimacy, and understanding between partners.
When she is not in the office, she enjoys taking day trips with her husband, playing with her dog, kickboxing, and streaming excessive amounts of podcasts.
Yessica Curiel is a Registered Associate MFT (#131695)/Associate PCC (#11288) and work under the direct supervision of licensed clinical social work supervisor Daniel Brezenoff (#23543)
